Salt Lake City turned a fine outing from starter Dan Cortés into a victory over the Port Huron Blitzkrieg at Spirits Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Cortés got the win, improving to 3-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Buzz now own a record of 20-19.
Salt Lake City took a 2-1 lead on Stephen Clifton's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Clifton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Port Huron pitcher Gustavo Rivera visibly frustrated.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Cortés.
