Redwoods Suffer One-Run Loss at Salt Lake City
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz beat the Hudson Bay Redwoods, 3-2, at Spirits Stadium. Todd Bowers starred for Salt Lake City. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Salt Lake City reliever Chris Murton picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Walliyullah Brown absorbed the loss. Salt Lake City is 5th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 26-26.
Bowers had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 cutter from Walliyullah Brown, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Buzz a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Bowers.
Bowers called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
