Fans watched the Florida Men and the Port Huron Blitzkrieg fight to the finish.
The Florida Men picked up a win at Psychos Ballpark, dropping the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 4-3. John Bell, who is tied for 7th in the 3AAA in wins with 5, was the difference-maker. Bell yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-5. Mike Allen recorded the save, his 12th.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Men grabbed the lead when Scotty Pike rapped a two-out single. Florida was trailing 1-0, when Pike hit a 2-run single off Esko Haapakoski to put his team in front, 2-1.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Bell. "It sure beats the alternative."
The 5th-place Men sport a record of 28-27.
