Hamilton got a big-time effort from pitcher Martin Roach, but it wasn't enough to keep the Salt Lake City Buzz from winning the game, 4-3. Roach threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Salt Lake City is 32-30 and Hamilton, with the loss, 23-39.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Salt Lake City third baseman Stephen Clifton, facing Jesse Clark, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Buzz the 4-3 win.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Hamilton skipper Jesús Garces, "and it cost us."
