The Port Royal Disaster got a sterling performance from pitcher Lawrence Tate, but the Hudson Bay Redwoods still prevailed, 6-0. Tate threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Randall Dean, credited with the win in relief, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. David García notched his 3rd save of the season.
Making an impact for the home team was Mark MacGrewar. In the bottom of the seventh, the 35-year old center fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Redwoods.
MacGrewar attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Redwoods, at 39-23, have now won 5 straight.
