Blitzkrieg Earn Late Win
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg beat the Plymouth Rocks, 8-7, in part because of second baseman Thomas Sharp. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Rocks, now 33-34, have lost 4 in a row.
Port Huron used a clutch hit from Alfredo Silva to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Silva said. "We did a good job of that today."
