The Plymouth Rocks defeated the Hialeah Dodos, 8-4, at Plymouth Quarry. Leading the charge for Plymouth was designated hitter Orlando Ramírez. He went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Plymouth has now won 3 in a row.
The Dodos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rocks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Onye Paulino came to the plate. Paulino hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Hialeah hurler Tom Schaefer. It was Paulino's 9th home run of the year.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Ramírez.
