Blitzkrieg Hang 4-0 Loss on Buzz
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg downed the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-0, at Spirits Stadium. Stellar pitching by Mario Gómez had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Gómez got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 8.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The Blitzkrieg now have a record of 37-49.
Port Huron won the game in part because of Roy Hewat. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 2-0. For the game, Hewat had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Hewat. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
