Behind a solid performance from center fielder James Sterling, the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys defeated the Kansas Rainbeaus, 7-5. Sterling was 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Squirrel Monkeys. The Squirrel Monkeys, at 15-16, sit in 6th place in the Premier AAA.

The decisive blow was delivered by Albert Devigorerrazuriz in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a 2-run home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Kenny Flint to win the game for Syracuse. The home crowd went nuts.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Squirrel Monkeys manager Ramón Barrueco.
