The number just keeps getting higher.
Kansas first baseman Paul Sherman has now extended his hitting string to 20 games. He did it today with 2 hits in 3 at-bats as the Kansas won the game, 8-1, over the Bakersfield Nobles at Wichita Field.
"Who knows how long it will go on?" Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn said. "He's certainly tough to pitch to right now." Paul Sherman singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and struck out in the 7th.

Injury Sidelines Carlos Romero For Year
Monday, July 17th , 2062
The doctors have spoken and Carlos Romero of the Jersey City Tritons didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Romero sustained his season-ending injury during the Pennsauken Flyers game yesterday at Pennsauken Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Jersey City medical staff reported Romero had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.
This season, he has made 15 relief appearances with no saves. In 27.2 innings Romero has chalked up 13 strikeouts while posting a 0-1 record and a 4.23 ERA
