Nobles Use Late Score to Top Redlegs, 4-3
|
Sacramento wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Brian McDaniel, falling to the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-3. McDaniel threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Ed Dodman recorded the save for Bakersfield, his 11th of the season. The Nobles go to 26-22, putting them third in the Premier AAA.
Bakersfield relied on the bat of Alan Malone to get the win. The left fielder produced a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Nobles ahead, 4-3. For the game, Malone had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
