The Syracuse Starks defeated the Sacramento Redlegs, 8-3, at Stark Stadium. Syracuse was led by 25-year old third baseman Spencer Bonnar, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Syracuse reliever Mario Méndez picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Chris Evans absorbed the loss. The 5th-place Starks have won 4 straight games.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Bonnar hit a run-scoring single off Brian McDaniel. It propelled the Starks into the lead, 3-2.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Bonnar.
