The Montreal Machine beat the Sacramento Redlegs, 5-3, in 10 innings. Montreal pitcher and Scottsdale, Arizona, native Devin Hancock led the way. Montreal reliever Tynan Hunter snagged the win, upping his record to 4-4. Mark Sims shouldered the loss. Gary Smith closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Montreal used the clutch hitting of Justin Walters to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Machine ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In postgame remarks, Walters said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."

The Machine now own a record of 28-35.
