Rainbeaus Win with Late Heroics
The Kansas Rainbeaus beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds by a score of 5-4. Kansas second baseman Chris Gutiérrez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Gutiérrez was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Rainbeaus. The win belonged to Mike McCauley in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Javier Vargas took the loss for Ellenburg. Kansas improves to 41-23 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Kansas. That's when Timmy Derp hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Javier Vargas to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Kansas manager Guillaume Colin called it "a good, solid win."
