The Flyers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Stark Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Syracuse pitcher Benny Carr. Carr went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Pablo Gonzáles, credited with the save, is now 7 for 9 in save opportunities. Pennsauken now has a record of 34-30 with the win.
Townes van Zandt, who is tied for 9th in the PAAA in triples with 2, contributed to the Pennsauken win with a solo home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Flyers manager Dave Morse.
