Tritons Lose Late to Nobles

Bakersfield and Jersey City duked it out and the Nobles came out victorious.
Alan Malone had a 3-RBI game, during Bakersfield's 8-5 triumph over the Jersey City Tritons. Malone contributed 2 singles and 1 home run to the cause. The winner was Cordell Dawson, who threw 98 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 5 runs on 8 hits. Ed Dodman earned the save, his 16th, for the Nobles.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Will Johnson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Jersey City pitcher Trent Troubridge, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bakersfield on top, 4-3.
"Alan is still learning," said Nobles manager Timmy Appeldoorn. "The sky's the limit for him."
At 33-33, the Nobles find themselves in 6th place in the Premier AAA.
