Pérez Lifts Redlegs to 11-5 Triumph
Due in large part to second baseman Oliver Pérez, the Sacramento Redlegs sunk the Jersey City Tritons, 11-5. Pérez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mauro Ramírez picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-6 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 7.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs. The last-place Tritons dropped to 25-47.

Pérez had a big hit for Sacramento with one out in the top of the fifth. With Sacramento leading 8-3, Pérez hit a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Redlegs up, 11-3.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Pérez.
