The Baton Rouge Brass electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.

The Baton Rouge Brass had to overcome a fine effort from Bakersfield pitcher Nick Johnston to win, 6-5, at Brass Field. Johnston went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Melvin Hanna came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 3-1.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 33-year old designated hitter Carlos Román had a chance to be the hero. Bakersfield pitcher Ed Dodman wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Román hit a sacrifice fly. The Brass had themselves a thrilling win.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Román said.

The win makes Baton Rouge 35-37.
