Flyers Reel In 7-1 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 24-year old second baseman Brody Peck, the Pennsauken Flyers stopped the Kansas Rainbeaus, 7-1, in 9 innings. Juan Pacheco got the win, improving to 8-3. He held the Rainbeaus to 1 run on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The loss makes Kansas 46-26.
Pennsauken went up, 4-1, on Clifford Tolbert's 11th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Tolbert hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas pitcher Marty Davis muttering to himself.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Flyers manager Dave Morse, "I like our chances."
