The Jersey City Tritons took Syracuse pitcher Cisco Morales's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Stark Stadium. The final score had Jersey City getting past the Starks, 5-3. Morales went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 5. Earning his 5th save of the year was Steffen Benton. The last-place Tritons have a record of 26-48.

Jersey City used the timely hitting of Chris McNally to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tritons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Syracuse manager Homer Robertson.
