The first-place Kansas Rainbeaus picked up another win.

The Kansas Rainbeaus got a marvelous performance from pitcher John Turner. The right-hander kept the Syracuse offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 10-1 Kansas victory at Wichita Field. The winner was Turner. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Cody Beasley.

Larry Rothrock had a big 3-run home run for the Rainbeaus in the bottom of the first inning. With Kansas leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a splitter from Cody Beasley, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA with a 7.4 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Rainbeaus on top, 5-0.

"Good hitting and good pitching is a lethal combination," said Turner.

Kansas is now 48-26, Syracuse 39-35.
