The Montreal Machine defeated the Bakersfield Nobles, 5-4, in 10 innings in USPL Triple A action at Stade Olympique. Montreal pitcher Kevin Brown had a standout performance. The win belonged to Gary Smith in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Ed Dodman took the loss for Bakersfield. The Machine saw their win-loss record go to 34-41. At the same time, the Nobles fell to 37-38.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Montreal third baseman Bo Young, facing Ed Dodman, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Machine the 5-4 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Brown said.
