McElroy Powers Pierogis Offense

At Field of the Rawhides, the Providence Pilgrims and Squirrel Hill Pierogis were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis picked up a win at Field of the Rawhides, downing the Providence Pilgrims, 6-3. On the mound for Squirrel Hill was right-hander Jeff McElroy, who played a pivotal role in the win. McElroy picked up the win for Squirrel Hill, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Diego Manchego earned his 6th save, after closing out the game.
Shan-tang Zhou, the Squirrel Hill right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Pierogis. For the game, Zhou went 1-4.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Pierogis manager Ben Cooper.
Squirrel Hill is now 15-14, Providence 14-15.
