Liberty Academy End Lawler Streak

Bill Lawler, shortstop for the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Philadelphia Liberty Academy. Not only did the Liberty Academy break his 22-game hitting streak, they also beat Chesapeake by the score of 5-2.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Lawler said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This season, Lawler is hitting at a .299 pace with 7 home runs, 29 RBIs and has scored 26 times.
