Minnesota Gets 5-0 Win
Pitcher Jesús Delgado was sensational for the Minnesota Loons in his team's 5-0 triumph over the St. Petersburg Thunder. Delgado earned the win. Delgado got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Clay May earned the save for Minnesota.

The Thunder had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Loons going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old center fielder José Vázquez came to the plate. Vázquez hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from St. Petersburg hurler Otojiro Kozawa. It was Vázquez's 2nd home run of the year.

"All in all, I thought Jesús pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Minnesota manager Calvin Beck.

With the win, Minnesota pushed its record to 16-13.
