The performance of Michael Jones proved critical in helping Squirrel Hill beat St. Petersburg, 4-3. The Pierogis second baseman was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Richard Roche locked down his 2nd save. With the win, Squirrel Hill goes to 19-20, while the Thunder fall to 19-20.

Squirrel Hill went up, 4-3, on Roger Miller's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Miller hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Petersburg pitcher Duncan Wright shaking his head.
