Liberty Academy Rally Late to Clip Chesapeake
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Academy got a stellar performance from pitcher Don Swift, who handcuffed the Chesapeake offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Ghost Crab Park. Tanzan Jouda earned the save, his 4th, for the Liberty Academy. The loss makes Chesapeake 28-16.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Vanni Perkins to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Liberty Academy on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chesapeake manager John Moore. "The effort was great."
