Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas and Philadelphia Liberty Academy.
Despite a great performance by Philadelphia second baseman Truman Reed, the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas defeated the Liberty Academy by the score of 4-3 at Ghost Crab Park. Reed went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Reliever Toby Cates picked up the win. His record improves to 5-2. Gabriel Soto, who is tied for 5th in the SAA in strikeouts with 55, took the loss.
Alan Peck, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA in bases on balls with 24, chipped in a 2-run home run for Chesapeake in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Chesapeake manager John Moore praised his team's "businesslike approach."
Chesapeake goes to 29-16. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
