Late Rally Earns Arizona 7-5 Win
St. Petersburg first baseman Eric Giles had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Arizona at Baby Thunder Dome. Giles was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jim Carter notched his 9th save of the season. The triumph makes Arizona 16-31.

With one out in the top of the eighth, Jack Roberts had a game-changing hit. The Javelina shortstop slammed a 2-run single off Hal Gaines, making the score 7-4, Arizona.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Roberts told the Arizona Daily News.
