Loons Take Tight Tangle

Extra frames were needed to settle this game between the Minnesota Loons and Providence Pilgrims.
The Minnesota Loons did just enough to sneak past the Providence Pilgrims, 5-4, at Loony Bin. Minnesota pitcher Billy Warren, in particular, had a standout performance. The third-place Loons now have a win-loss record of 29-26.
The Loons got a clutch hit from second baseman J.J. González. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Loons.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Calvin Beck, the Minnesota skipper. "This one tested us."
