Led by Herb Jones, the Minnesota Loons defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 6-4. Jones slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Loons. Kun Yi, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save. The 6th-place Polar Bears dropped to 29-30.

It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Leo Moore, the 27-year old center fielder . Moore contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Minnesota up, 1-0.
