Liberty Academy Even Record with 5-3 Victory
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Academy picked up a win at Ghost Crab Park, knocking off the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 5-3. Starting pitcher Don Swift was a big reason why. Tanzan Jouda earned his 9th save, after closing out the game. With the victory, the Liberty Academy record stands at 30-30.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the top of the fifth. That's when Liberty Academy first baseman António García hit a sinker from Tanner Ellis for a 2-run single. Just like that, Philadelphia was up, 3-2.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Chesapeake manager John Moore. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
