Blues Capture Close Win
|
The Barton Springs Blues did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Liberty Academy, 4-3, at Liberty Academy Field. Barton Springs pitcher Jonathan Rasmussen, in particular, had a standout performance. Rasmussen, now 3-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs. The loss makes Philadelphia 31-31.
Barton Springs used the timely hitting of Robert William to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blues on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I really like what we did out there today," Rasmussen said after the game.
