Coeur 5-2 Victors Over Las Vegas
The St. Louis Coeur knocked off the Las Vegas Flamingos, 5-2, in United States Silver League action at The BFIB. St. Louis pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Craig Lucas had an outstanding performance. Lucas, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Robert Poynter recorded the save for St. Louis, his 2nd of the season.

In the bottom of the first, St. Louis right fielder Ricardo Pérez whacked a changeup to right for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Coeur in front, 2-0.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Lucas told the St. Louis Daily News.

The Coeur, now 15-6, have been sizzling early on.
