Dan Collins Out for Season
Tuesday, July 10th , 2063
Montana starting pitcher Dan Collins could miss the remainder of the season because of radial nerve compression. He exited yesterday's Buffalo game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Collins would be out 8-9 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
To date this season, Collins is 0-3 with 9 starts and an ERA of 5.73 with 21 strikeouts in 37.2 innings.

O'Day Gives Echo Park Goose Eggs
Monday, July 9th , 2063
The Echo Park Lakers had no answer for Memphis Mockingbirds pitcher P.J. O'Day. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 15-0. Echo Park managed only 2 hits off O'Day, who had 8 strikeouts.
The extraordinarily popular O'Day got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.
"Mockingbirds fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
Checking out his stats for the season, O'Day has notched 2 wins and 5 losses in 12 starts. His ERA is 2.70 and he's struck out 65 batters in 86.2 innings.
