Centennial Defeated, 4-0, After Germantown Rallies
|
Right-hander Javier Barrego mesmerized the Fort Knox Centennial while leading the Germantown Uruguayans to a 4-0 victory. Germantown reliever Cory Valéncia was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-2. Joe Blamey took the loss for Fort Knox. The Uruguayans sport a record of 9-13.
Germantown used a timely hit from Dan Smith to get the win. The catcher stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Uruguayans manager Jamie Scott.
