Acevedo Jacks Two Home Runs in 8-6 Vancouver Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves topped the Philadelphia Liberty, 8-6, at Liberty Park. Vancouver first baseman Yerson Acevedo was a spark plug for the offense. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Ray Stevenson, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. Brad Carter got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 7th of the year.
Pedro Morán went 1-3 against the Liberty. With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Vancouver in front, 7-6.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Acevedo.
Vancouver is now 16-9.
