Fort Knox Beats Redwood, 5-1
|
The Fort Knox Centennial received a sterling performance from starting pitcher Joe Blamey, allowing them to shoot down the Redwood Rhinos, 5-1. Blamey picked up the win for Fort Knox, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Jody Ross collected his 5th save.
Fort Knox used a timely hit from Rod Ferguson to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Centennial ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Ferguson. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The Centennial win now puts them at 14-13.
