Wood Hits 2 home runs in Rhinos Win
|
In a tight contest at Hudsonville Park, the Redwood Rhinos edged the Hudsonville Flanderses by the score of 5-4. Redwood center fielder Tom Wood, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. After today's action, Redwood sits at 22-12, while Hudsonville falls to 17-17.
Wood contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Redwood in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Wood took a fastball from Simak Vehuny and stroked the home run to center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Rhinos to leap in front, 3-2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Wood told the Redwood Herald.
