Both teams had their chances, but the Hudsonville Flanderses eventually prevailed.

The Flanderses grabbed a win, 5-4, at Beaver Town, overcoming a fine effort from Northwest Territory pitcher Donald Mickey. Mickey went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Chuk-yan Miao in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Pedro Gil took the loss. Tony Valera closed it out for his 1st save.

Hudsonville won the game in part because of Sonny O'Mulrooney. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flanderses ahead, 5-4. For the game, O'Mulrooney had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said O'Mulrooney.

Hudsonville is now 19-18.
