The Beaumont Crossbeaus wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter Wyatt Bell, falling, 1-0, to the Germantown Uruguayans at Ballpark of Albuquerque. Randy Howard earned the save for Germantown, his 3rd of the year. Beaumont's current losing streak is now 4 games.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Uruguayans had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when second baseman Orca Wiesblatt hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Wyatt Bell and made the score 1-0, Uruguayans. Wiesblatt was 1 for 3.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Wiesblatt told the Germantown Today.
