The Hicksville Hounds picked up a win at Hound Pound, knocking off the Fort Knox Centennial, 7-6. Starting pitcher William Byrne played a key role in the triumph. Hicksville sits in 8th place in the Premier Low A at 17-25.

Hicksville second baseman Gene Ladd contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and put the Hounds ahead, 3-1.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Ladd, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
