Liberty U-21 Scratch Out 2-1 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Philadelphia Liberty U-21 eventually prevailed.
The Philadelphia Liberty U-21 got a magnificent effort from pitcher Gil Chapman, who kept Fort Knox hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Liberty U-21 win at Ballpark of Liberty. In 8 innings, Chapman surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Edoardo Consiglio earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Liberty U-21 had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when left fielder César Castillo hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Eugene Smith and made the score 2-0, Liberty U-21. Castillo was 1-3.
"What we get, we earn," Castillo told the Philadelphia News.
Fort Knox now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
