Cajuns Earn 5-2 Home Win
|
Crowley Cajuns starter Jesse Blanton turned in a top-notch performance against the Hicksville Hounds at Titans Ballpark. The result was a win for the Cajuns, 5-2. Blanton, now 5-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The triumph puts Crowley at 26-20 for the season.
Matt MacGruder had a big 2-run double for the Cajuns in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Crowley leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Tosya Yagudin, who is tied for 10th in the PA- in quality starts with 6, and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cajuns ahead, 3-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," MacGruder told the Crowley Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
