Flanderses Get One-Run Win at Philadelphia
|
The Hudsonville Flanderses used a great performance from Roberto Martínez, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- in quality starts with 8, to beat the Philadelphia Liberty U-21, 2-1, at Ballpark of Liberty. Martínez yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-2. Picking up the save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Cristóbal González.
Millard Lenny had a direct impact on the outcome. Lenny contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Hudsonville up, 2-0.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Martínez.
The Flanderses improved to 29-18.
