Sherman, Beaumont Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
Beaumont Crossbeaus starter Rory Sherman hurled his team past the Hudsonville Flanderses, 2-0. José Morales recorded his 4th save for Beaumont. Beaumont now sits at 20-30, while Hudsonville falls to 28-22.
The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Sherman. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Crossbeaus. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Flanderses, striking out 6 and scattering 5 hits over 8 innings. Sherman is now 4-4 on the season.
"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Sherman said.
