The Crowley Cajuns did just enough to sneak past the Northwest Territory Beavers, 5-4, at Titans Ballpark. Crowley pitcher Jesse Blanton, in particular, had a standout performance. Crowley reliever Wayne Meyrick picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jay Keirl was tagged with the loss. Jason Carroll recorded his 8th save for Crowley.

Al Gross, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2060 draft, chipped in a 2-run home run for Crowley in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"Jesse was throwing strikes, locating well," said Crowley manager Bill Wallace.

Crowley is now 30-21, while Northwest Territory is 34-17.
