|
Fort Knox right-hander Ánibal Machado pitched his team to victory over the Northwest Territory Beavers at Ballpark of Baxter. The final score was 8-4. Machado, now 5-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. The first-place Beavers have dropped 4 straight games.
In the bottom of the sixth, Fort Knox second baseman Yin-reng Zhou put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 5th double of the year. Northwest Territory pitcher Randy Powell served it up. Just like that, the Centennial were ahead, 5-4.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Machado told the Fort Knox Daily News.
