LA Forum was the site of a competitive game between the Echo Park Lakers and Long Island Lighthouse.
Jeff Tate, who is tied for 9th in the SL with a 7.6 K/9 rate, imposed his will on the Lakers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his cutter, the left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 Long Island triumph. Long Island now has a record of 16-12 with the win.
Long Island starter Jeff Tate pitched like a boss. The 6-foot-5 left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 8 innings.
