Both teams had their chances, but the Germantown Uruguayans eventually prevailed.

Plattsburgh pitcher Ruud Asmus gave the Uruguayans all they could handle, but in the end, Germantown left Plattsburgh Park with a win, 2-1. Asmus allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 9 innings. Hunter Holman earned the save for Germantown.

In the top of the first, Mitsuoki Kawashima ambushed a 1-0 fastball from Ruud Asmus and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Germantown a quick 2-0 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Kawashima. "And not try to do too much."

The win boosted Germantown to 28-28.
